We're excited for the start of the Eurostars project in collaboration with Novigenix SA, Maastricht University and UZ Leuven.
We had a great kick-off meeting for our new Eurostars funded project where Gerben Menschaert from BioLizard met with Sabine Tejpar from KU Leuven, Manon van Engeland from Maastricht University, and Sahar Hosseinian and Laura Ciarloni from Novigenix, to further discuss the details of this exciting project.

This project will build off of our previous collaboration with Novigenix to develop a diagnostic test for early detection of colorectal cancer, which has produced promising initial results. This blood based test will make use of transcriptomics and epigenetic biomarkers, using the latest technology in multi-omics data integration and artificial intelligence. This pipeline will also allow for the monitoring of relapse in CRC patients.
“This Eurostars project combines excellent, world-leading science and technologies in a consortium dedicated to making significant advances in how colorectal cancer is detected and its treatment monitored,” – Dr. Jan Groen, CEO of Novigenix.
The different consortium partners will each be responsible for a vital part of the project, with BioLizard using their expertise for multi-omics data integration and bioinformatics analysis, as well as developing and implementing the artificial intelligence based pipeline.
