Seven habits of highly effective biomarkers
01 March 2020 | talks
The Biomarkers Series UK 2020 was the biggest biomarkers forum to date, providing valuable networking opportunities for both large corporations as well as small startups like BioLizard.

Our co-founder and scientific advisor, Wim Van Criekinge, gave a talk discussing the bioinformatic tools used to deepen our understanding of biomarkers. In his talk he covered topics including the next generation of biomarkers, moving from omics analysis to precision medicine and integrating bioinformatics for database-driven approaches. He highlighted the importance of machine learning in the biomarker discovery cycle and provided much food for thought for companies and researchers to consider expanding their current bioinformatics pipelines to include machine learning tools, as this is the healthcare of tomorrow.
