Dr. Liesbeth Ceelen has experience in a multinational environment as well as in start-up and scale-up companies. Following her PhD in veterinary sciences, over the last 20 years Liesbeth has gained expertise in operational and quality management, next to sales, scientific business development and strategic growth. Her role as CEO involves steering the BioLizard team, identifying and pursuing strategic opportunities with clients, and setting and driving metrics across business units enabling the company to steadily grow.

Dr. Paul Vauterin is an experienced executive in innovative software product creation and management, including vision, strategy, and execution. His focus on advanced data analytics and software architecture for health care, biotech, and life sciences applications make him a perfect fit for BioLizard’s leadership team. Paul has worked on every aspect of the software product life cycle, and his expertise is invaluable in helping BioLizard help their customers leverage the full potential of data for life sciences and health care.

Yves Muyssen is a data technology leader with 20 years of experience in international technology companies, both in product-based as well as service-based ecosystems. He graduated as bio-engineering and computer scientist and participated in many strategy and leadership courses. He combines expertise in business strategy, organizational planning and people management with a deep understanding of software development and data management. As COO he helps translate the BioLizard strategy into operational goals and team organization. He leads a team of bioinformatics scientists, software engineers, data engineers, and project managers.

Principal Scientist | Team Lead AI & Analytics | Director of Scientific Engagement

Dr. Volodimir Olexiouk is a highly experienced professional in the fields of Ai and MLOps, with a proven track record of delivering data analytical solutions across a variety of sectors, particularly in the life sciences. He has a strong background in providing end-to-end solutions that are tailored to meet the specific needs of his clients and is well-versed in the leadership, management, and strategic planning required to successfully oversee data analytical projects and solutions. As the head of AI and Analytics at BioLizard, Dr. Olexiouk is responsible for leading a team of experts, managing the delivery of data analytical solutions, and developing the strategic roadmaps that guide the company’s services.

André is a senior executive with 20 years of life sciences experience and a proven track record in both mature and emerging markets in Western and Central Europe, Asia Pacific, and Middle East Africa. He has successfully led organizations ranging from 40 to 1400 employees as CEO, Managing Director, and Regional Vice President. He has extensive change management experience and broad non-executive and advisory board experience. André holds an MBA degree from Tilburg University and an MSc in Management from Purdue University, USA. He has also followed the supervisory board member program of Nyenrode University, The Netherlands.

Wim Van Criekinge

Co-Founder, Board Member, & Scientific Advisor

Prof. Wim Van Criekinge, together with Jan Van den Berghe, is a co-founder of the Novalis Biotech Incubation. He is a tenured professor at the University of Gent with nearly 200 peer-reviewed international publications to his name. He founded and heads the laboratory for computational genomics and bioinformatics (BIOBIX) as well as the core sequencing facility (NXTGNT) with global collaborative reach across applied bioscience and clinical discovery. He is a co-founder of BioLizard and he leads the scientific development of the company as well as coaching the consultants. His main interest is the use of machine learning in computational biology and bioinformatics.

Kjell Mortier

Fund Manager Novalis

Prior to working for Novalis Biotech Incubation, Dr. Kjell Mortier acquired approximately 20 years of experience in the biotech industry working in various scientific roles. At Ablynx, now part of Sanofi, he was responsible for the bioanalytical and immunogenicity part of dedicated clinical programs. At Eurofins, a leading CRO in the pharma, food and environmental industry, he supported the CMC-analytical part for various customers in the pharma industry. Kjell also obtained certification for financial analysis at EHSAL Management School.

Caroline Vanovermeire is the Global Director of Talent, Leadership, and Organizational Development at dentsu, a high growth, fast-paced marketing services and solutions company. She is the founder of Effra Consult, a business that focuses on all things people to boost business performance. In addition, she is a mentor to start-ups in the FinTech industry. Caroline was previously the Global Head of Organizational Development for all Support functions at Barclays and a Principal at Heidrick & Struggles’ Global Leadership Advisory practice. Caroline is a trained psychologist and coach and has a Masters degree in Human Resources management.

His main focus is to combine different high throughput technologies and to integrate resulting information using bioinformatics tools to address different biological questions. At BioLizard, he provides expert advice for the bioinformatics team.

Prof. Thomas Krahn has almost 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry as the head of department for several research units.
